Still Life 02

This is my 2nd attempt at a digital still life painting. Still trying to paint quicker yet still capture as much from it as I can. Here I have painted some fruit shakers in a fruit bowl.

Digi Sketches

I have been keen to try and start doing some quick digital painting sketches using my wacom and I really enjoy it. Its helping me break away from focusing on detail too early in a painting. This way I work faster by just finding shapes and capturing quick poses.

My first digital still life painting

Today was a cold and windy day, so decided to do a still life painting, using photoshop. This will be my first digital still life painting and Im quite happy with it. I definitly learnt a lot doing this.

I really want to improve my painting skills on photoshop, especially when it comes to painting faces and detail. So I chose a still from Pirates of the Caribbean to copy from and Im quite happy with the end result.

The Last Samurai painting study

I felt like i needed to learn about using textures in photoshop and I tend to us only one type of brush. So i chose a still image from the film the last samurai. I wanted to try and capture the roughness of the forrest and the texture and pattern in the cloth used for the clothing.

Drawing for fun

I wanted to do a self portrait but i wanted to see how it would turn out if i painted my self without wearing my glasses. I found painting myself blindly quite fun as i could not see detail, mainly just colour, which aloud me to be more relaxed and not worry about the outcome.
The lion painting is just an experiment for a future larger painting i am interesting in doing.
