The hunter

Really like my warrior character so I have decided I am going to design the whole tribe, each with their roles within it :)

The warrior

It's been a busy last few weeks and not had much time to do some person work, which made me feel guilty. So tonight I made sure to do something before bed. Here is a warrior.

Surf swim

My new years resolution this year is do more personal work and make the time for it as well because last year was terrible with regards to doing any personal work. So I have picked a theme for my drawings this year and that is my childhood/teenage memories from when I lived in South Africa.

This one is a memory of me doing a surf swim for lifesaving champs. The sea was huge, the water cold and the weather miserable. I may have hated doing these events at the time but I'm glad I did. I have a feeling I will be doing a lot of scenes from my lifeguard days as that was what I did almost every weekend.

Bonnie

Just got my new Cintiq! So just wanted to do a quick doodle to test it out and pretty happy with it so far. Here is a cartoon character of Bonnie Bennett.

Mustang

Have not posted on here in awhile and feel guilty for neglecting my personal work. I have been working on a horse racing slot game at work and so felt inspired to paint a horse. I have never drawn/painted one before because they are damn hard. I also watched Magnificent seven last night, hence the western feel.

Afternoon sun

Another afternoon painting to keep in practice. Dying for the day I get to cuddle one of these gorgeous animals and yes I know that sounds ridiculous.

Fox in snow

Have not had much time to do some personal work since I started my new job, but I had some time to kill this afternoon. So here is a fox enjoying the snow .

Support Sam Sweetmilk!

So, I haven't posted anything on here for awhile, but that is because for the past 2 and a half months I have been working as the background artist for a pilot episode of Sam Sweetmilk. It is such an awesome show and I'm having so much fun working on it, so please support it by following it on twitter! https://twitter.com/SamSweetmilk.

Also here is a link to an early episode - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8FU011cjKs

Desert stream

I was going through some unfinished sketches and found an old landscape drawing which evolved into this. Had loads of fun with this one :)

Off to the beach

Off to the beach sketch

Missing the beach and body-boarding :) Will post the painted version up when it's done.

Cactus Football!

Cactus football! Poor little dudes, all they want to do is play football but they keep hitting a few snags :)

Fishing

Playing around with shapes and colours. If you want to buy any prints of my work just follow the link to my shop - https://society6.com/heathervogel89

Personal Project - Creepy Landlord concept

Thought I draw a little scene to help me figure out this creep landlord guy's character. It definitely helped, I have stronger idea of what he is like now and I am also pretty happy with his look so far...Not sure Rebecca agrees though :)

Personal Project - Creepy landlord concepts

Some creepy landlord exploratory character concepts for this personal project I am working on. Still undecided about how he should look. Need to do some more.
