Character sketch - Diver girl
Here is a character sketch for a future painting I want to do. The background elements will come soon. Not 100% sure of the storyline yet, kinda making it up as I go, but she is definitely searching for something in the depths of the ocean...and has she found it? We shall see :)

My version of Tyrion Lannister's squire Pod. Maybe he needs to be more goofy looking, but this is what just came out.

Day 3 of male portrait paintings - Alan Carr
Day 3 of my male portrait painting. I struggled a bit with his hair, so I guess I need more practice painting short hair to get the texture right.

Day 2 of male portrait paintings - Sean Bean
Day 2 of doing a male portrait painting - Today I chose to paint Sean Bean from Game of Thrones. I had a lot of fun painting this one, though I still need to get better at beards.

Day 1 of male portrait paintings - Robert Pattinson
I realised that I tend to not painted or drawn many male characters as I find them quite difficult to get right - especially facial hair! As you can see above. So my task for the next few days is to paint various male portraits of all different shapes and sizes to improve my skills. I thought I would start off with a face fairly easy to paint - so here is Robert Pattinson.

Kitty cat doodle
I have two spare strips of wood left over from building a cubboard, so thought I would use them to paint on. Here is a cat design idea that I want to paint on one of the strips of wood for my mother as she loves cats. The other strip of wood will be of another cat as well.

The yearly shower
Always wanted to draw a troll. So here is my one having his yearly shower with his jelly cap and not looking too happy as even just one shower a year is too much.

Day Dreaming
What started as a doodle and ended like this. I am not sure what is wrong with my blogger, as when I uploaded this image the colour seemed slightly darker and more saturated in some areas. So the original is slightly different to this one...oh well.

Google maps virtual plein air painting - Old N1 Rd, South Africa
Here is my second attempt at some virtual plein air painting. I kept it to an hour and a half as before. This is a view from the old N1 road in South Africa near Paarl. And as promised as before here it the google maps link - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-33.705176,19.244624,3a,37.5y,294.28h,100.01t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1svESojmDqJkPChQweGULgDw!2e0

Virtual Plein air painting based from Google Maps
I noticed some people doing virtual "plein air paintings" the other day and so today I thought I'd give it a go. Here is a plein air painting of a random house on Murchinson Rd in New Zealand. I stupidly did not think to save the link to the exact location on Google maps but anyone is welcome to help me find it again :) I'll remember for next time. My aim was to paint it within 2 hours and I managed to do this one in an 1hr and a half. It was good fun. definitely will do more :)

Has technology stolen our imaginations?
Something that just started out as a doodle and ended like this. Not really sure where I was going with it, it was just a good way to pass the time.

Portrait study - Parina
Thought I would do a portrait painting of one of my friends using reference from various photos. Here is Parina Mehta :) I think I will do a few more portraits of some of my friends over the next few days. It is a good challenge to try and get a likeness to the person you are wanting to depict.

Blackout
Awhile ago the village where I live had a power cut in the evening. I was home alone watching tv and the sudden darkness left me blind for a few seconds and I could not find a torch anything to create some light. Anyways to cut the story short I tend to have a very active imagination and so I decided to do a painting about my 15 minutes of panic before my mother came home :)
(P.S: I am terrified of zombies)
